I need email addresses for those getting their newsletter by US mail, so we can
save on the cost of printing and postage stamps (cost of a postage stamp
increased to 45 cents).
Greetings from the bull pen or oval office
2011 came and went so fast I am not sure we got all of it in. So we are adding a day to February to make 2012 a little longer; it is called leap year.
Congratulations to Sam Houston who is hosting the March campout and to Houston who is assisting them. Without all the hard work the member districts put into hosting our campouts, we would not have any to enjoy.
March will see us elect officers for the 2012 term and any and all who would like to serve are encouraged to throw their hat into the ring. The next four years are going to be exciting and very busy for square dancers in Texas as we prepare to host the 2016 National Convention in Amarillo.
September will feature a return to Mineola as East Texas hosts our fall campout. We hope everyone makes plans to attend and let's make this the biggest and best campout ever.

News from the Association Clubs
We camp at a diferent location around East Texas monthly, February through November. We visit clubs throughout our district and try to dance Friday and Saturday with different square and round dance clubs. Please feel welcome to come and join us on any of our campouts, as we dance, camp, and build friendships. Call us if you can join us, and we will send you information on the campout. We usually do not make reservations, space is available. Contact Clifford at 903-295-1013 or Tommy at 903-758-1043.

Heart of Texas Camping Squares
The Heart of Texas Camping Squares does not have a schedule for 2012 at this
time. We are working to build our membership and expect to dance with other
clubs in the months ahead. We will be dancing at American RV in Corsicana
in the near future and are looking forward to visiting the Log Cabin Swingers
in Tool again soon. Contact our Wagon Master Doyce Massey at 903-642-6121,

Our club is growing in membership and we have a new club caller, Brice Hesche. We have added a round dance workshop on Saturdays at 6:00 PM with early rounds startig at 7:00 PM and rounds between tips. Our campout schedule includes lunch on Friday at Tony's in Sealy, Pot Luck on Saturday at noon with breakfast on Sunday morning. We camp most months and use Coushatte Ranch RV Park in Bellville, TX for our home park. We are excited about or Anniversay Dance this year, we are having Matt Barns for our guest caller and we will have Jay Flowers guest call in November.

Hello Texas State Campers. We continue to have great campouts every month. We are looking forward to the State campout in March and hope to see a good number of you at Coushatte Ranch. Several of our campers will be arriving on Wednesday and Thursday.
We have several of our members who are active in the Texas State Federation of Square and Round Dancers. Keith and Kathie Malone are on the Texas Committee to bid for the National Square Dance Convention to be held in Texas in 2016. Several of our campers will be traveling to Red River, NM this sumer to take part in the three different weeks of square dancing at the Community House featuring different Texas Square Dance Callers. You can check the Red River web site for specific information on those weeks in the summer.
We invite you to join us at one or more of our scheduled campouts shown below. About half of our members begin the weekend on Thursday. If you are able to come, please call us or email us for more information about the RV park locations. No reservations are necessary There are usually plenty of sites available.
